Our experience Exploring The Azores
We traveled to the Azores in May of 2022. This little known archipelago in the Atlantic is only a short flight from the northeast of the U.S. Unlike many island destinations, the Azores requires a flight between most islands. We traveled from Sao Miguel to Pico Island via charter flight for approximately $100pp.
The following islands make up this archipelago: Sao Miguel, Pico, Terceira, Sao Jorge, Faial, Flores, Santa Maria, Graciosa and Corvo. We traveled to the “main” island of Sao Miguel and flew to Pico for 3 nights. The Azores offers stunning miradouros as well as waterfalls and hot springs. Accommodations remain reasonably priced although the influx in tourism continues to raise costs, especially on Sao Miguel. We enjoyed Pico for its chill vibe and less touristy feel.
