Anyone who knows us, knows that Iceland is our special place. If we could travel to Iceland every year, we would- some day I hope we will! To date, there is no place we have ever been that has amazed and delighted us with its magical charms the way only Iceland can. Around every corner is another awe inspiring view that alters the way you see the world. From stunning waterfalls to glowing glaciers to valleys so green and then onto the sheep and the puffins and the whales. Last year, we got married in Iceland and trekked with 14 of our dearest loved ones to share the landscape we have raved about for years.   • Transportation Tip -Some logistics when planning a trip to Iceland. The best of Iceland should be visited by car. A road trip through Iceland is as epic as it gets and seeing beautiful vista after beautiful vista come into view along the roads of Iceland has a somewhat magical quality. The farther you get from Reykavik, the more beautiful it gets and every day you will feel like you have seen something more beautiful than the last. The road system in Iceland is very easy to navigate and most of the most popular destinations we highlight can be accessed without 4 wheel drive. The exception would be the Highlands and Pakgil.
    A note about F-Roads: some of Iceland’s best attractions are only accessible by dirt roads called F-Roads. To travel on these roads you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and should invest in gravel insurance. Check when booking a car rental to determine whether F-roads are included in your insurance. F-roads are generally only accessible in the summer months so it’s important to determine what time of year you are traveling and how the weather may impact travel by car.
